Diagnostic Testing

Certain conditions of the eye and visual system require further testing to assess their significance. These tests include Visual Fields, which measure peripheral vision and can detect conditions such as glaucoma or neurological disease, tests to determine the amount and quality of the tears for conditions such as dry eye.

O.C.T. (OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY)

An Optical Coherence Tomography scan (commonly referred to as an O.C.T. scan) is the latest advancement in imaging technology. Like ultrasound, this diagnostic technique employs light rather than sound waves to achieve higher resolution pictures of the structural layers of the back of the eye.
With an OCT scan, our doctors can take color-coded, cross-sectional still images of the retina. These detailed images are revolutionizing the early detection and treatment of eye conditions such as wet and dry age-related macular degeneration, Glaucoma, Retinal Detachment, and Diabetic Retinopathy. An OCT scan is a non-invasive, painless test. It is performed within several minutes in our office. Feel free to contact our office to inquire about an appointment for an OCT with us.
