CONTACT LENS FITTING SERVICES
We are dedicated to bringing you the most advanced contact lens materials and designs available, as well as the latest in contact lens fitting techniques. New developments in soft contact lens materials have resulted in lenses which are more comfortable, less dry, and more “breathable”, allowing more oxygen to reach the eye, and these materials are now available in a wider range of prescriptions and wearing modalities.
Advancements in lens designs for the correction of astigmatism and for bifocal wearers have also allowed more successful contact lens wear for many of our patients. The use of gas permeable rigid and soft/rigid combination lenses allows us to correct conditions where the cornea (the front part of the eye) becomes misshapen or distorted, such as keratoconus.
Through careful examination and measurement of the eyes, and the application of the latest materials and fitting techniques, we are able to successfully prescribe contact lenses to many patients who previously were unable to wear them.
Spherical (Regular) Contact Lenses:
These lenses correct basic vision problems like near-sightedness (myopia) and far-sightedness (hyperopia). Most people who wear soft contact lenses wear spherical contact lenses. ACUVUE® makes several types, including
ACUVUE® ADVANCE™ with HYDRACLEAR™
ACUVUE® 2, 1•DAY ACUVUE®
ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™.
Contact Lenses for Astigmatism:
These lenses correct astigmatism by compensating for the shape of the eye. Vision correction with contact lenses for astigmatism can be as good as what you would get with glasses. ACUVUE® ADVANCE™ Brand Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM give you crisp, steady vision and comfort all day long.
Contact Lenses for Presbyopia:
Bifocal contact lenses are used to correct presbyopia (inability to focus sharply for near vision related to aging). ACUVUE® Brand BIFOCAL Contact Lenses are a comfortable, effective alternative to wearing glasses (or regular contact lenses with special glasses for reading).
